LA testing low fuel level sensor for 85 GS

85 GS...Just wondering if anyone knows what are the ohm values for the in tank sensor? trying to test my sensor for proper operation before replacing gas tank....I know its a minor and mundane sensor thats really not needed for most.....but some folks who will be driving this car LOVES to run the tank completely dry before stopping at a gas station and relies on every car having this idiot light so they can drive another 25 miles after light first comes on...
with that said....what is the resistance with the sensor in fuel and what is it when sensor is dry?

I would never let anyone drive any of my cars around that had that little respect!

Have you tried the factory service manual? I just replaced my sending unit, but have not tested the idiot light.

Fuel level sending unit- full=6 ohms / 1/2=31.5 ohms / empty=80 ohms.
Fuel level gauge- full= 7.4 ohms / 1/2=31.5 ohms / empty= 75.9 ohms.
