I would I know if I need to replce bushings? I'm looking at the idler arm, sway bar, endlinks and tie rods. Any help would be great. Do you check for give or something?

Yes, you check for freeplay and wear/condition. Do you have a shop manual?

Well I have the Chilton manual. Shop manuals are very hard to come by.

Testing the bushings on my '85 -SE was pretty simple. When I jacked up the front and pulled the wheels off, I could see that they were all either imitating pancakes or were torn in some fashion. So, if you see either of those conditions exhibited by your bushings, consider them failed.

(In my defense, I *just* bought the car as a restoration project. I'm not the one that let them get that bad!)
