tension rods

well, i just changed bushings on my tension rods but i forgot to make note of how much it was tighten. what should i do now?

Do you mean "what should they be torqued to?"? If so, it should say in the Haynes or factory service manual.

Put the first nut on all the way, then washers bushings etc. Install it. Put the bushing, washers on. put the nut on and run it down till it clears the cotter key hole. Install cotter key, back nut up to cotter key, then tighten back nut to factory specs. The factory spec for the front nut is 10 or 12mm down the rod (cant remember exactly) but it corresponds to the cotter key hole perfectly. HTH

Hmmm...obviously I don't know what we're talking about here. I thought he was asking about the tension bolts on the engine. Sounds more like a suspension piece though, right?

Yup!

The tension rods are part of the front suspension

Carl, is it a matter of where the nut is? The tension rods are your adjustment for caster so I think he needs another answer... set your caster then tighten to spec.
