temperature and gas gauges working...sometimes

I have been having a problem with my temperature and gas gauges. Sometimes they work like they are supposed to, sometimes they just peg, or they both read higher than they should, has anybody had this type of problem, or does anybody have any clue what has come lose?

There's a connector that plugs directly into the back of your instrument gauge cluster, make sure it is firmly secure. I had probs with my speedometer because it jiggled loose before.

The fuel and temp gauge have an independent voltage regulator between them and the harness.. That regulator is probably your problem.. I haven't had any luck locating one for mine..

Can't be too difficult to find a voltage regulator-- just need to know the current flow and voltage output.

I would suggest checking that connector and your grounds before doing anything as drastic as playing with the voltage regulator, though...

Could even be just a cold solder joint.

There are three wires off of the regulator that screw to the back of the instrument cluster. I'm not sure what the voltage change is supposed to be..
