I just ordered 15x7 konig wheels that don't come with lug nuts, but on the phone I was told that if the stock lugs are tapered, they will work, if not I'll have to get some. Are the stock lugs for the "X" shaped mazda wheels tapered?

 

Yes they are. They are also refered to as conical lug nuts.
