Taking out the rear quater windows sure sucks!!!
Hey guys,
well I was trying to transfer my rear limo tinted hatch glass from my old car to my widebody project tonight... I used piano wire and heavy gauge wire to work around the window as best as possible, I also heated it up to try and make it easier. After about a hour of doing this I got the window where I felt it should just about come out, so I lightly pryed it with a screwdriver.... Bad mistake, shattered the window...
Could have been worse though, luckily I have 2 spare windows. So it looks like now I will have to go out and get these tinted... Lesson learned, leave windows to the professionals...

I know how you feel, I did that with my front windshield... during the install process!
I used .35 welding wire... You can get pretty far without the wire breaking. And it heats up quick and melts through the rubber just with the up and down motion.

i used a homemade scrapper with a sharpe edge. cut through all the sealent like butter. it got kinda tuff about halfway through so i used a torch to heat it up. i love titanium.......

You then put a 5mm dam of foam material around the outside of the glass, about 20mm from the edge. This stops the new eurathane from spreading onto the glass.
Then you need to heat up a tube of eurathane (sikaflex is the best) and put it into a gun to dispense it. Spread it around the outside of the glass (avoiding skin contact) then place it on the body. Use small rubber blocks to prop it up and prevent it from dropping down before it sets.
30 minutes later, you're done. Use a garden hose to test for leaks.
