Taillights/Brakelight dont work.

I went through some nasty puddles today, not going very fast, and later on washed my car because it was getting very dirty. Now, my taillights and brake lights aren't coming on at all. I opened up the fuse box and the diagram is completely backwards and some fuses arent even marked on there. I replaced the tail light fuse but to no avail. A guy I work with said when he once went through a puddle his bulbs didnt work anymore. I'm gonna pick up some new bulbs tomorrow unless you guys know what the problem is. Thanks.

lites

I don;t know but just throwing some ideas out there. Any corrosion on the contacts when you take the bulb out. ??Check for loose wires. You checked the fuse and ok....hummmm disconnect the connections and reconnect. Just play around with the wires. Isn't there some kind of contact under the brake pedal that sends signal to the lites?? Might want to check that area...Good luck.......cjf.........................

I have done all the previous but to no avail. There is no power going to the sockets, yet the reverse lights/turn signals work. Im thinging broken wire. Anyone have a wiring diagram???

I have never seen a factory Manual up close...
But the Haynes Book DOES have wiring diagrams.

That are not always 100% correct, but their mistakes are usually differences between US/UK Specifications.

I have used the Hayneswiring diagram in the past when I retrofitted an 85 GSL Dashboard into my 1981 GSL (with 13B, Headers and Dellorto)

Good Luck.

cjf seems to have the best idea, brake switch or loose ground connection, the local library should have a import book for reference/check out that will have the wiring also.. good luck #2 fuse shows to be tail lights, gw,g shows to be the colors at the brake lite switch and you may want to clean the contacs on the steering wheel combo switch, again good luck,,
