tach question

yes, its raul again. on my tachometer it shows the rpms (obviously) which go from 1 grand to 8 grand, then below them it shows numbers goin from 10-16.. i think. and under the numbers it says volts x RPM. whats volts got to do with any of this? i was thinking that if i rev it OVER 8, then the tach goes back and starts over at 10. but that would be silly. can someone please clarify this for me? also, can anyone post a site for me where i can choose a nice color for my car? im thinking of making it silver or something. if anyone can suggest any better colors plz post them. maybe black with a shade of purple? iono , just post plz.

When you turn the car to the on position without starting it it will show you the volts. After you start the car it reads rpm. It is a dual purpose gauge.

What a stupid gauge.

Has anyone ever needed to know the voltage with the key on only? Even a almost dead battery that will barely run the radio will show close to 12 volts.
