T-stat gasket?

I'm looking all over the place for the darn gasket!

I've got my t-stat housing off of the water pump and there are hard gasket looking things on both the t-stat housing and water pump. Any idea where it is more likely to be and how hard it should be?

I get mine at the parts stores, if it doesn't come with the new thermostat. Tak your neck with you and have them match it up/

I've got the new gasket. I suppose I should rephrase the question.

Where's the old gasket?

I know it's dumb, but it's like it's missing... just hard crap on either side...

try to scrape it off with a razorblade. if nothing is coming off, then the PO may not have put one on there.

Mine was stuck on the water pump. Gasket remover spray made the job REALLY easy.
