switches

OK, so I was checking the wiring up under the dash, so I would have a heads up before I buy a battery and see if it will run, and I noticed that there were some cut wires. I traced them to a switch on the left hand side of the steering column. On the far left(where the cut wires lead) is a switch that clicks to either top or bottom and has a orange colored(I assume it lights up) bar on teh bottom part of it. I assume the switch one the right with a white dot that falls back to its orignal position is the defroster, but what is that far left one?

if you mean the one above the headlight up and down switch, its the hazard switch that flashes your turn signals

Those wires are color coded. Write it down and compare it with the on-line FSM. That will tell you exactly what they represent.
