Switched Ignitors, Car Wouldn't Start

In an ongoing effort to get my tach to work, I tried switching ignitors. The car wouldn't start. I switched them back and it fired right up. From this, can I deduce that the trailing ignitor is bad, and this is why the tach doesn't work? If that's true, my only other question is, which one is the trailing ignitor? I guess I can find out by trial and error, but it'd help to know.

im not 100 percent positive that the trailing igniter is the one the tach is run off of, but if it is, yea you most likely need a new trailing one. the trailing igniter is the one farthest from the front, facing the alternator.

Okay, thanks. Figures it'd be the one that's most fun to remove.
