Swapping carbs
Ok I have an 82, and I'm trying to put an 83 nikki carb into it. My problem is that whenever I start the car up and press the pedal down it completly shuts the engine off. It revs up fine once I get it above 2000 grand. I 've also tryed riching the mixture out a bit, but it didn't do anything. There were two differences I noticed with the carb I pulled from it. There was an emissions system that I plugged, and some sort of sensor dead center in the middle of the carb on the passenger side. I point a pic below of the sensor. I think its this sensor what do I need to do with it?

I'd blame the accelerator pump as well - leaking, clogged, jammed, or somehow not working.
The electronic bits, near as I can tell, don't do a whole heck of a lot except in the realm of cold starting.

I did rebuild the carb, theres something wrong with it that I or a mechanic couldn't figure out. Its not the accell. pump the stream is good. I'm goin to try figuring out the wiring for that solonoid. Theres also a backfiring every once and awhile and the timeing is fine checked it.
