swaping gsl-se engine in 1983

swaping gsl-se engine in 1983

ok i know have a gsl-se but the body is bad and thinking of puting the engine into the 1983 body. i want to know if i could use the same engine mounts or do i have to switch them?? and wat alse most be done to make this work?

u have to modify your bracket... heres what i did to mine... fit like a glove after i did this...





or u can pay 80 bux from racing beat for a mount that is exactly the same :| what a rip.

engine mount is the easy part, the wiring is a bitch. you're going to need a lot of parts from a SE to make it work properly unless you put a carb on it.

off the top of my head you will need the dash(front) harness, main relay, SE fuel pump and filter, SE fusible links, SE gas tank or pickup, header pipe.. im sure there is more

drill out the holes so its pushed forward about 1/8" and take a torch and sledge hammer to the mount til the engine sits properly and the shifter lines up inside the car.

if you can search without getting proxy errors, there is a bunch of threads on this i came across when i did mine.

i didn't drill anything, i just used a torch and a mini sledge hammer and flattened it...

thx gus but also where can i find good springs.. i know racing beat has a good deal on them, but im looking for a 2 inch drop for my rx7.

ok another ?, would it work if i used the 12a gauge cluster except the gsl-se gauge cluster? i know the gsl-se gauge cluster wont fit in the 12a so is the wiring the same so its plug and play or do i have a big problem? i like the 12a gauge cluster becuz the rpm gauge is in the middle. so is there a way??
