suspension differences
I have a friend in Cali with a brand new in the box set of Koni shocks for a 79-80 rex . He is willing to let me have them cheap , if they will work on my 84 gs .
So my question is ...
Is the 79-80 suspension interchangeable with the 81-85 or is there some radical retrofitting needed to fit them in there.
peace

You will find the 79-80 inserts are actually longer than the later models.
they were shortened to allow more downward suspension travel before bottoming out.
some brands of insert have a metal spacer(10mm i think) tack welded onto the bottom of the 79-80 type... if this is the case with the koni's , you only have to remove the spacer to make it fit the later model struts.
see if you can get a pic of the inserts
