I got a 83 rx7 and the accelaration just plan out sucks on this. I've adjusted the throtle cable and it still sucks. when i put the car in 4th gear and punch the gas i barely moves with a rattling noise coming somewhere off the engine. Can anyone please help me i feel like a damn turtle!!!

 

is it bad accel all the time or right when you floor it does it bog for a second?

 

its bad accelaration all the time. it gets even slower when i put it in 4th and punch the gas. i even changed the fuel filter because it started to bog then turn off and it was hard to turn back on, so right away i knew it was the fuel filter, but the old fuel filter had some brown crap dripping out of it and when that stuff dried it was like a powder. but other then that i runs like crap.

Brown Crap? Might be a rusty fuel tank - you might try running a carb cleaner through it (the carb that is)

 

Is there a squirt coming from the accelerator pump nozzles when you operate the throttle? (Shooting into the small bores)

Is the fuel level in the sight glasses on your carb is right in the halfway point?
