NC street port question

I have a 85 GSL,
I was told by the previous owner of my car that he had done a street port on it.

I can tell the motor has been pulled out before and seems to have more power than my old stock SA.

I didnt buy the car from him (junkyard) so i don't see why he would lie, but i was wondering if there is a way i can tell if he really did street port the motor?

THX!
Daniel

It always blows my mind how rotary guys are trying to take advantage of each other. Im not saying he is trying to pull one on you but like the previous poster said remove the intake and you will notice right away.

well he isnt taking advantage, thats what makes me think he did do it, cause he had the car then a old friend of mine and some punk kid after that. And i say punk kid cause he DROVE this little beauty to the junk yard to trade for a 1st gen. civic hatch back, with no motor...

Is there a place i can get a before and after pic of street porting? Or maybe just a stock port pic would work and compare maybe.

I also noticed today that i can pull my shifter in neutral and my ignition comes on with the key out and when i put it in gear it shuts off... I installed a universal ignition but that was a few weeks ago and it just started. My car is possesed lol

I love rotaries but I will rock a civic any day. Those lil things are capable of soo much in the right hands. Here are pics of the ports themselves. I'll try to find pics of ported runners...

Just feel the runners. If they're a rough, sand-cast surface with some harsh edges, they're stock. If they're smoother, it's been ported.
