Street/Bridge Porting questions!

Im not selling rosie, i cant bare to do it. I took off her intake manifold to find a friking HUGE crack in it, thefore i did the neccesarry thing: ordered a webber 48 and intake combo from the shack. With the intake off i wonder and am tempted to attempt porting. The problem is i have no idea how to do it. I sence i will have to dis-asseble the enigne and therfor get a rebuild kit as well... because the gaskets and seals would need replacement. I have a dremel here at home, and at school drill presses, lathes, (one drill press called the "Bridgeport") and stuff. Is there a good tutorial (ive searched, not a n00b) and do i hafta disasemble and stuff?

Sorry dude, but don't try it yourself. It's very expensive to make a mistake.

My engine is being ported right now, by a pro, and I KNOW how to do it myself. I just don't want to risk screwing it up (specifically because I am pinning the motor too)

I just finished street porting my set of R5 side plates yesterday (think 12A with 13B rotor housings). All I used was a dremel with a small assortment of bits.

Since I have a little time here, I'll list what I used. Cutting disks, sanding drums, and a couple garnet stones (cone shaped). I gave up on those xmas tree style bits on my last port job (dremel brand don't seem to work that well).

I still probably wouldn't attempt a bridgeport by myself... at least not without a template.

Street porting just bores out & smoothes existing ports. Bridge porting is a bit more drastic & presice. “Do not try this at home” warning in place.

You could get samples (templates) and try it. What I'd suggest is trying to find some old, worn sidehouses first, just to try it.
Point is: you'll have to rebuild, and that means a lot of work. It's possible to rebuild yourself, but that depends on your skills.
Maybe the $300/500 isn't that bad at all, but of course you'll still need to ad the rebuild costs.
