I'm sorry man. That's my number one worry with my cars, some punk MF's just don't give a damn if it's not thiers. If you find him/her/them kick 'em in the head once for me. I hate to ask, but what's your insurance going to do to help you?

The garage owner is considered 'bailee for reward' under most state and provincial laws, so if the garage had it when it was stolen the garage and/or its insurance should be obligated to compensate you.

Why do you think the shop tipped someone off. Are they shifty eyed. I've heard of crap like that, sell parts, steal parts back, sell parts, etc.
well i need a scapegoat dont i?? all i know is my car looked like pile of crap on the outside, whole point to deteir theft. i just feel really iff'y about them cause of there lack of wanting to help and compensate me. at first they were helpful about as it comes to writing a check i think its going to be handled in COURT ....

Please tell me you have had a consolt with a lawyer? I would be willing to bet that a good lawyer can get you whatever compensation you want out of it.
Please go talk to a lawyer, its more than worth it...

my friend used to work at a local car shop... he has a 96 2 door accord with a H22 with a to4 turbo.. handled like a dream. it got stollen one night at a party.. it was found 2 weeks later COMPLETELY gutted. the really shitty thing was.. the bastards somehow couldnt get the carbon fiber hood off, so they threw a brick threw the hood so when it was recovered, it couldnt be used.. he has the same car but obviously had to redo everything. that really ******* sucks that someone would actually take something that someone put sooo much time and money into and just **** it up like that. i feel for you man. i dont know.. if someone did that to me? even though there isnt much done to my car.. its still my baby.. if i found them, i would be obligated to beat the **** out of them with a crowbar.
do you have the car now? are you going to rebuild/redo it?

I feel for you!!!
I took my 85 in for a tune up and one of the technicians stole my amp...an amp for christ sakes...nothing was done until I wrote the owner...the next day I was fully compensated
document everything because you are probably looking at a court date...contact the better business bureau they have been known to mediate such situations
good luck!!

Seven Is Coming

For those that dont know the whole story, the car was at the shop to be tuned. It was TOWED away (or some sort because it didint run, I think) from the shop. Bascially someone would have had to know it was there, and what was dont to it. Who would steal a bone stock RX-7? I mean, its happened im sure, but I would think that someone wouldnt put that much effort into it unless they knew what was under the hood.
On a personal note, I feel your pain man. If you remember, when I heard abpout it I jumped in my car and drove around looking for it "with you" . I even went to so far as to sneak peeks under some tarps, but came up empty handed (I know, bad TJ). Im really sorry this happend, and I tried to help. I hope you get what you want out of that car, and then some.

Like rotormotordriver said, it has all the earmarks of an inside job. The owner of the shop may be innocent, but an employee was probably involved in this theft.
Assuming the owner is innocent and doesn't know anything... The reason some business owners will refuse to give compensation is because it would be a claim against their insurance, and their insurance premiums would go up.. perhaps a lot! That's assuming the owner has insurance, of course..

Tennis, anyone
Don't let up on pressuring the owner or manager of the shop. That shop DID steal, or has something to do with the car being stolen. your right on the money. don't settle for less money. I just hope you have paper for all the parts you've bought, because without paper(proof)
you won't get compensated by any court for sueing the owner/or responsible person(s). don't let your anger blind you from the facts either, and try not to be depressed either,,it's gone,,,dead,,move on. (sorry,,man.) If you set fire to the shop,,just make BIG sure, NO BODY SEE'S YOU DO IT. don't drive a car there,
and cover your features,wear gloves, a wig,and change shirts right after it's sparked... ooopppp's a mollie-top
cocktail is in full order.. WOW. what came over the keyboard ???? how did it type all that ???? ******* hackers...Lol my 1 1/2 cents
