I am ripping all the stock stuff out and replacing with new wire runs. There are so many little issues that seem to arrise with the stock wiring in these cars I have descided to just run all new for my new stereo, also because for some reason when I turn on my head lights stuff in the cabin, ie cig lighter (was used for my discman and cellphone) would die and the stereo wouldn't work as well.

I believe a company by the name of Scosche makes a set of connectors that will plug directly into the stock stereo harness for 82-90 Mazda vehicles.

this true. I bought one from sounddomain.com with my stereo. I only used the power section of the harness because i ran new wires for the speakers. There was a catch though, 2 of the wires will need to be switched. If you compair the instructions on the wiring harness to the instructions for your stereo you should be able to figure it out. good luck

I believe the 86 Harness will work for the FB's and maybe even the SA's...

I wouldn't know, since the previous owner got their aftermarket stereo stolen and all the wires were cut up...

When I rebuild the harness, I'm either going to have it end with a Kenwood connector or a "SmartCables" universal connector from Circuit City, so I can plug in any brand stereo harness.

Probably Kenwood though.. cause I like their stuff.

theres one made, but theres so many different configs that its hard to have one for everything, not to mention most 81-up 7's have stock OEM amps and you have to wire them up/bypass them etc
