Stereo Panel Removal Question

I'm going to be replacing the grey stereo panel/dash surround with an NOS piece I picked up for $60 bucks (with ashtray) on eBay. I know there are two screws at the bottom, once I take those out does the console surround just "pop out"? Thanks in advance for the assistance. Kevin

no, take off the blower **** and the temp **** and located behind each one is a nut and a washer. you can get them with needlenose pliers. then you have three light connectors: the ashtray light, and a light that illuminates the blower **** and a light that illuminates the heat temp. all three twist out counter clockwise

Even after you get the nuts under the ***** off, the fit is pretty tight around those shafts, so you still may crack it. Get it off carefully.

Once off, I suggest carefully reaming the holes for the **** shafts so that it slips on and off easier.
