steering rack conversion

Okay, once again, the question is asked:
FC SE rack in a 1st gen.
Actually, not just the rack, I'm talking about the whole front suspension. Struts, hubs, front crossmember, etc.
I've seen several messages in previous threads saying you'd need this and that, it's a PITA, etc, etc. But, my reason for posting again is that I want to talk to someone that has done it. What EXACTLY do you need? Any special modifications to the suspension or frame, or motor? Is it stable?
And, if you have some pics of the process, that would be very helpful.
What I want to do is convert my whole front suspension over, put lowering springs on the front to compensate for the height change, and swap my rear LSD out with a GSL-SE, then try to get 14" GSL-SE rims all the way around. I think it'd work out pretty well, what do you guys think?
Oh, yeah, what about the turn signal and windshield wiper switches? can they be adapted to the FC type steering column?
