I have searched and searched the forums and cannot find a comprehensive post from someone who has removed their steering gear..

I have to remove one from my parts car and install it in another car and would like some pointers...

I have all the bolts removed.. the shaft will not move..

Does the black column stay in the car and the steering shaft come out with the gear?

if so, how do i get this to come out w/o hammering on the shaft and ruining it?

Please help me out here.. I need to get this car re-assembled soon.. and correctly in time for RR...
