Does anyone have a manual that shows the disassembly procedure for the steering column for an '85 12A GS that could be scanned and posted (or emailed)? I have the Hanyes manual and it says nothing about it.
Removing the column from the car, or actually disassembling the column?
Removing from the car is easy.
1. remove steering wheel, cover, combo switches.
2. remove steering lock/ignition switch - requires a bit of drilling/cutting, as the screws do not have slots for removal.
3. remove colum support under dash
4. jack car and support
5. remove pitman arm (the bit that connects column to steering link)
6. remove three bolts that hold column to chassis
7. remove column
(The above is a rough description from memory)
