Steering box help

Is it possible to tighten and adjust the steering box in these cars? (83 rx7)

My steering is sloppy as hell and I would like to tighten it up as much as possible.

Also, what does lengthening the pitman arm do? Some people say it makes for less turns lock-lock, others say it gives more steering angle.

yes to the first, there are a couple of really good threads on here, i think kenetsu has one, and divindriver the other. the FSM has a section too, but its not as clear as the threads.

lengthening the pitman arm. any suspension or steering arm will move in an arc. so the pitman arm swings in its arc, and moves the center link and tie rods.

making the pitman arm longer increases the diameter of its arc. so this will increase the steering angle, or it would if the tire didn't hit the sway bar.

also since the same amount of steering wheel movement makes the end of the pitman arm go further, it should make it faster
