Steel braided fuel lines install Q's

Ok so I bought 20 ft of aeroquip 6 AN steel braided fuel line and the fittings that go on the ends of the hoses. THe problem is, I know my sizes are right, but it is next to impossible to get the steel hose into the sleaves of the hose ends, so I dont know what to do. Anyone have this problem?

How did you cut the hose? I use a composite chop saw mounted on my Makita 10" radial to slice the hose after I've wrapped the area to be cut with masking tape. No frayed ends that way and it goes right in with a little persuasion. Once in the hose end, I lightly mark where the braided part is fixed on the hose end before I screw in the other piece. That way I'll know if it's trying to back out of the hose end as I screw in the the second piece. I use Russell stuff myself...it should go without mention, use lube on the inner core, not on the braided steel surface...
