Steam from under the carb?

So my 83 has been sitting for a few months at the shop so I decided to drive it home yesterday and put it up for the winter. The car hasnt been driven for at least 3 months other then moving it around the lot and the shop. I drove it maybe 2 miles to the gas station to fill up last night and when I got there there was smoke/steam coming from under the carburator area. Smelled like burning coolant and there was a decent amount of it. Brought it back to the shop to check it out and there was only a little still coming out and I took a good look under the carb and from what I could see there was a little dampness but no puddles or anything. So the question is where would there be coolant leaking from under the carb/intake and do you think it just puddled out and pooled up while it was sitting and then just burnt off? I drove it home after checking it at the shop (15 miles mostly highway 80-90mph) and when I got home I didnt see any more steam and the smell was mostly gone. The car will be sitting for the rest of the winter now but I want to get a handle on this problem before it gets worse. Thanks for the help.

Yep, only place it could come from, particularly on the intake side of the engine.

Yippie skippy. Yeah, that job is waiting till spring. I guess it would be a good time to put on a header and get rid of the air pump and all that crap too huh?

How's your anti-freeze level look? That'll tell you how much you lost, which will give you an idea of how severe the leak is.

There's a small chance that there's a pinhole in the heater hose, that sprays AF on top the engine under pressure; it'd then run down & pool on top the mani under the carb.

Much more likely to be the o-rings, though.

This is only like a fifteen minute job, so don't dread it too much.
