starter problems

What is the correct way to hook up a starter? I am having problems on which wire where. I have been unable to find any diagrams.

Thank you,

Joe in KC

The wire with a square connector goes to the "tab" on the solinoid. The cable from the battery goes to the terminal of the solinoid that has nothing else on it. The 3rd wire that has a ring terminal and fuseable link goes to the remaining connection, the one that has the big wire that goes to the starter internally.
