Starter motor question

Hey guys
I've been having some problems with my 83 rex starter i guess. when ever its cold and has been siting for more than 4 hours, when i try to crank the engine, i can hear the starter motor, but its not turning the engine, and nothing happens, so i retry and retry and retry a few times till i hear a angry grinding sound and then after a few attempts it turns over and starts up right away. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and if there is a quick fix?

Thanks in advance - Matt

if you want i got an old starter laying around, my didnt start for a while, so i bought a different starter for it, and it turned out to just be the pos. bat cable was almost corroded through, so i just cut a little more wire off and she fired right up, so if you want the other starter i have, it cracks like new, and i have never actaully had any problems iwht the starter itself. just pm me or something

its not much money time or work, i think i got my starter out in about 15 mins, and a used starter isnt much, and its not hard to do at all, just remember to unhook the battery.
