you say you can push start it? what happends when you try and crank it over? dose the starter even do any thing?

if it starts when push started the starter is no good.

also the cheapest way to rebuild is a.) get a rebuild kit and do it your self, b) buy a used running motor.. jspec from an importer with 30k or less miles normaly works good

oi i jumped the gun... if the dash lights dont work.. you might not get any power to the starter.. check the lines... the reason you might not have a busted fuse is the line it self can be busted. check that.

You probably have a corroded battery cable. Get a voltmeter and check the drop between neative terminal and ground, and between positive terminal and starter.

Might want to check the fusible links also. One might have blown.

Does it just click when you turn it over? Or is it just turning over and not starting the engine?
