Starter bolt specs
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew the specs (length, pitch, etc.) on the long bolt that holds the starter in place. I'm having a hell of a time getting it off and it's starting to round off. I'll get a round-off socket and see if that helps, but will need to replace the bolt afterwards.
If it isn't a common sized one I could pick up at the hardware store does anyone have one for sale?
thanks

once you get the bolt(s) out, take it to a fastener/hardware supplier - they should be able to look/measure the bolt and get you one. I am replacing a lot of my smaller fasteners with stainless steel, and I have had no problem getting proper bolts, though it might need to be ordered. Alternative: get a new one from Mazda. Still amazing amount of basic hardware (as opposed to trim!) available. I got the complete fastener hardware set for my 80's exhaust system from Mazda-

OK, heres another question....I started putting everything back together and on the car and realized that i may have hooked up the contact shown on the wrong side, is it switched or not? And is the power cable on the correct side(the right side)? Guess i should have taken pictures of how it all was beforehand..
