When I did some searching for headers for my car (just curious), I noticed most said "some modifications may be needed to install header". IOW, they make a rotary engine header (what else will this fit?)- end it isn't even fitted to the only cars you would install it on? That is just wrong.
On a side note- Do all headers make rotaries sound like sick chain-saws? I want the extra hp, but don't want tree huggers to freak when I drive through the country.

Maybe the prevoius owner knew better than to put it on..

I have a RacingBeat header/Road race header..no cats all free flowingf exhast I do have a twister racing muffler for a presilencer,

and then my DTM tip muffler,I dont get that metallic pinging like others,I think that has to do with cheap thin parts ..like exhast piping etc etc..

Yeah its loud, but I dont care...

Well, you have two choices...

Stick some cotton in your ears and drive that thing to the exhaust shop like a man and get her fixed. or...

Put the stock exhaust back on, place the pacesetter header on ebay and let it become someone elses problem while you save money to buy an RB model.

I have driven my car with just the RB header, and trust me, it is NOT fun. However, it is survivable. If you want to keep the pacesetter, you are gonna have to enlist the help of professionals or get ahold of the tools they use.

Good luck on whatever ya do.

Yeah thats what I would personally do,sell that **** to someone else, and get a RB one.

When I did my exhast I droped all the old **** at the dealership that I used to work at,When I fired up the car open header,I almost **** my pant,

I had to drive that bitch about 5-7 miles to the exhast shop that was doing my work,I was scared to go over 3k RPMs,I had peopel like 4 blocks down looking for me before I even got close for them to see me..lol

The pacesetter is a very long header, You are just gonna have to move your cat further down.

You'll notice a difference in the higher rpms after it's installed.

I don't understand how people can diss a brand of header, It's a plate with 2 tubes. I used to work at a precision welding shop and I can tell that there's nothing with the way it's welded together.

Rb/pacesetter it's all the same ****. Unless you are comparing long headers and shorty headers. But each have advantages and disadvantages depending what you use your car for.

Personally I think rb is a rip off in general, they have they're prices so hiked up, it's cheaper to order hardcore rx7 parts from austrailia. Those guys over there know how things are done.

I drove my rx3 to a muffler shop with open header once. I didn't have to go far, I wound that sucker out. Damn that thing sounded good. Doesn't seem as loud in the higher rpm's.

Never dissed the pacesetter here... I simply stated his options, though I may have shown my preference towards the RB setup in the 2nd option. Take note: I have no personal experience with the pacesetter header. I did research my exhaust choice extensively online before I purchased, and I didn't spend the "high" dollars that you cite RB for. From my recollections, the pacesetter header is using a smaller diameter piping than the RB and therefore doesn't flow as well. I think someone had pacesetter dyno plots back in 2001 and I don't remember them being impressive. As far as costs are concerned, the RB system is virtually indestructible, and used ones can be had on the cheap. I know. I only paid $250 for the complete system; header, presilencer, muffler, AND connecting pipe back in 2001.

I am just proud someone is modifying their ride and taking pride in it.

I think this is my option. I know the RB will last longer but the RX7 is not my daily drive and by the time that would need a replacement I can save for a RB Header.

Thanks all for the info........
