Question Spindle Removal?

I guess that there is something so obviously simple I am missing it , but how do seperate the spindle from the shock?

The spindle stub shaft is part of the strut housing.
The shock absorber itself is held in by the big nut at the base of where the shock ram rod enters the cartridge.

Thanks alot, I totally missed that in the breakdown of the FSM, appreciate the help as always. Soon I get to replace my entire front suspension.
