Thumbs up Sounds Much Better

This post really isn't for all the veterans, but for the guys with near to stock setups. I was fooling around today, and i cut three large strips out of my air filter box, basically about 5 inches out inbetween the clamps. I figured that it might improve air flow, slightly but i really wasn't expecting any real noticeable results at all. When i took it for a spin, i din't really feel much of a difference, maybe Slightly beter high end, but its probably just in my head. What i really loved about it tho, was now, once past 4.5 rpm,I can really hear the engine scream and growl, its beautiful, I can actually hear the sound of the engine over the sound of my tinny exhaust. I figure in the long run its probably bad cause now i'm constantly driving that high just to get the satisfaction of the noise. Anyways just thought i'd share. Besure to leave enough space around the clamps to keep it stable and tight if you're considering this.

When i did it i used a dremel.....I cut it in a "rotor" shape.....wish i still had it so you could see it. It went with the car when i sold it. I just drew the rotor on the top with a black marker then dremeled it out and sanded the edges....painted it silver....looked awesome!
