Sold my Last First Gen. :(

Well it finally happened, I am now without any first gens for the first time in 10 years. It's kinda the end of an era for me. I have owned 13 first gens. Now as I get older I am just starting to realize that I have a certain standard set aside for what I am looking for in a first gen car. I am going to hold out until I can buy a car "CLOSER" to what that standard is.. My dream is to buy "Spool32" 's beautiful car, hopefully when I have the money it'll still be for sale.. But if not, I will be on the lookout for the following car, preferably in the next few years I will find a:

1984-1985 GSL-SE
Tender Blue in color (only tender blue) original well kept paintjob no DAMAGE EVER
Grey interior fair/excelent condition
Mostly looking for a car in original shape with lower miles
It will be a T2 donor car so the drivetrain is not of much importance, but I would like to buy a complete car that has been well maintained, preferably a one owner.

I know that it will be hard to find a car like this, but it is the only way I will ever be truely happy with "my first gen". I am by no mean out of the Rx-7 buisness as I have a 1988 Convertable that I am using (6 port turbo setup), but my heart is truely with the 1st gen cars and i will return to them when the perfect specimen rolls my way.

I will still post here frequently as I feel that I have a lot of knowlage and info to share with the first gen crowd
(plus the 2nd gen forum is a bunch of 16 year old A-holes)
So you will still see me around, I also still have a 20x18 foot shed full of 1st gen parts to unload...lol

Anyways thanks for all the support and info!

Trevor

Sorry to hear your loss (or sale). Hope to see you posting frequently though.

And also, good luck on the location of "your first gen".

I know what you're saying but I just cant go without a 1st Gen, even if they are rough they still are more bang for the buck than any other car made....

Good luck finding your baby, I'll keep an eye out for you.

I hope to hear about you buying your perfect specimen some day. Anyone who has been commited to the rotary engine for so long deserves the rotary they truly want.

i hear ya man. i'm on my 3rd fully functional FB, but if i was going to buy another i'd be willing to wait quite awhile for the right one to come along. right now it would be something similar to my first FB, '85 GS, red, enkei wheels, gray interior, mint condition. trouble is first gens are getting harder and harder to find, not enough people reparing them and too many crushing 'em.

btw. do you have any more pics of that black one with the painted stocker wheels? that car looks almost exactly like mine and i always wondered what painting the wheels black would look like. i dont think i'm going that route anymore since i'm getting some 14" LE wheels.

If you're gona do a Turbo Swap, then don't limit yourself to a GSL-SE, a good GSL would also work out nicely.

It's incredible how loyal we are to our cars. Seriously 13 of the same car, you don't see that very often... Sad you had to let the last one go... Hopefully you will find your dream car soon!

I would be open minded to a Tender Blue GSL. I would just have to swap the hubs and brakes. But like I said this will be a little ways down the road when money will be little to no object in the scope of the build (as it wasn't in yours Direct)

I have a good job at a large "MusicTeleVisonNetwork" and my wife works at a large (well known) hospital. We have a few priorities, such as paying off her car and buying some property, but the dream of owning the "perfect" first gen is definitley within my grasp...

He is still sitting here looking at me... I have a deposit in hand. He went to a Local fellow who is installing a 13b out of an 88 into it.. Basically exactly what motor is in there now. But I am pulling it out.... He is a Rotorhead and a really nice guy, I should see him around as he lives in the same county...

I have a tender blue GSL for sale with a rebuilt 12a (3k miles) one owner low miles for sale. I also have a full gsl-se suspension that could be sold also.
