So, bad tps, or soemthin

Well my car starts up real nice. Maybe 3 turns nad it revs up and idles nice. After about 30 seconds its idle fluctuates like 500 to 1000 rpm. If i tap the tps is gets better. But it seems like its loosing power. Also if i turn on my cd player when the bass hits my dummy lights will go nuts, my idle will drop like its shutting off and sometimes the amp and cd player will just stop playing altogether. Any ideas?

Get some 10 gauge wire and run a new earth from the top of one of your housings to one of the bolts on the suspension tower.

Bad alternator. What else does it do when you place a high electrical load on it (turn on lights, turn on stereo, turn on A/C, etc.).

If your car dies from all of this, it could either be a bad alternator or voltage regulator, or the ACV. Take a quick look and report back. HTH,

well now the lights stopped doing that. But now my idle surges back and forth about 1500 rpms, then will sit nice and idle, then back and forth 1500 rpms then idle for awhile any ideas?

What model do you have BigJim? If you're driving an SE, you're looking at surging, but if it's a 12a w/carb, I have no explanation for you on the idle variation.
