There's where it's confusing...
The Mark I gives TII calipers and bolt pattern, but not TII-wheel-compatible offset. And I don't know if the vert rims are 4-lug or 5-lug... *shakes head* Sooo confusing.. Jon |
I will start a thread after class today explaining how I did a 4 lug conversion too the 4 piston second gen calipers on my 1984 car. I only did the fronts but there quite good for stopping. It costs abit more then to just convert to 5 bolt. But if you have wheels you don't want to part with then it says you in the end. Plus if your only doing the fronts you don't want to have 5 lug fronts and 4 lug rears.

Jon You have to remember where this all started. It was a cold call from a local guy. He did not know he was calling a rotorhead. He explained what he wanted. Explained he could not get the item in a timely manor and ask if would make it for him. He brought us the hub, rotor, caliper and spindle. We did what we needed to make it work. At that point we had only offered the air cleaner lids marketed under the ReSpeed name. I decided to offer the kit to fill a void. Fast forward a few years and we now have the mark II kit which is what I would have developed in the beginning if it was not for the customer knowing what he wanted and supplying the hubs he wanted to use. Really the Mark I kit is the least expensive option. You can use the Mark I kit with 4 lugs. Just takes some modifying. I have been meaning to make all this easier to figure out. I will try to make something today. -billy |
10.7" + Diameter vented rotors. Rebuilt 4 piston calipers |

Any chance having a kit like this for REPU billy?
Currently working on rx2, rx3 and repu. -billy |
Here we are. The following link will take you to a post that contains all the possible uses for each BB kit.

^That should clear it all up. Good work!
Billy, I'm trying to view the pics of the R&P kit on the ReSpeed forum but keep getting a "No permission error"...... I'm registered and logged in, any ideas?.. |

He does but I don't want to change my lugs to the t2 style. I already have my wheels.
I am VERY interested in the kit to KEEP my SE pattern so that I can keep my Panasports. I already have the TII 4 piston calipers, I would need everything else to mount it up to my SE spindles. THANKS again for being on top of the FB aftermarket. Joe |
now to decide...THIS or a carbon hood?

These will work with all of the 4 piston calipers right?
|
I would be in for the GSL-SE kit but most likely not for a few months. I am trying to work out buying another car.
I would also like to keep the 14 inch stockers considering I have 3 pairs. |

Yeah I know, I have a set of 17's and 15's also.
But I do kind of like the stock look. I talked with Billy before when he was looking into producing dual caliper brakes kits for the GSL-SE's. I dont know how close the 14's will fit with this big brake kit. If it is possible I will take some material off the calipers. |
Be careful about grinding down the calipers. The "bumps" on the calipers are actually brake fluid passages and make quite the noise when they explode... 2 TII calipers are in the trash because of it.

1988-1991 Rx7, 4 piston front calipers. Looks like we are in with the supplier. Just a few more days for the application to process and we will have pricing on the calipers. BTW, I sorted the 79-80 course brake line deal out. We can now supply DOT approved stainless lines with the kits for 79-85. -billy |
Billy's my hero. I am just starting to get back into first gens, and he seems to have everything great these cars didn't come with stock. Count me in for the calipers and 79 stainless lines too!

Where are you getting the CF hood from?

Billy I think everyone is making a soup of letters by wanting this and that and this and confusing others on the BB set up for the first gen.
Since you need 5 orders to do the 84-85 12A and also 5 orders for the 13B GSL-SE I want to see if we can keep the amount of peolpe wanting the BB set up in order. so anyone that has a 12A 84-85 or 13B 84-85 to just say Count me in and the model. So with me count me in 12A 84-85 |
Count Me In ------------- 84-85 13b Gsl-se
|
Count me in Already paid 12a
