smoking, and other problems need a little help

Hey guys, I tired searching this but either i didn't look hard enough or i just couldn't find it. I am still fairly new to the rotary. I have a vw background in cars but already started tearing into this car(new fuel components and dreaded water pump replacement) my questionfirst question: is when i start my car in the morning there is a small cloud of white smoke coming out of the back and smells a little rich...now i know that white smoke is suppose to be coolant but i haven't noticed any significant loss in coolant. I am getting about 15mpg on it and it has about 65k on the rebuilt engine.

MY 2nd question is that it idles fine, really smooth but when i put it in gear at idle the needle bounces , you think this could be a dirty MAF or something...because yesterday for the first time it stuttered briefly when i put it in 2nd gear.

my engine mods are:
bonez intake
RB exhaust
jacobs FC ignition and coils

that's about it for the motor. Here's a teaser pic to enjoy, any input is appreciated.

When I read your thread title, My first thought was that you had addiction problems, lol.

If it smells like fuel out the back then it is fuel. Coolant has a much different smell.
You stated that you installled some new fuel components. What were these?
When was the last repplacement of plugs, cap, rotor, ETC...
Also what is the engine temp running at after it is warmed up?

hahha yeah now that i read it, it does look like i have some personal problems. there was a new fuel line put on years ago and i put on a new fuel pulsation dampner. The plugs, cap, and rotor were all replaced about 900 miles ago when the jacobs ignition got put in. It does rev high as well like 1.5k rpms at idle. Then when i put it in gear it goes to 800 then bounces around to about 1k...i'm not really sure how to tell what the exact temp. was on the motor but the gauge was sitting about 1/3 of the way from the C (the cold indicator)

I would replace the T-stat to start with. Sounds like it may be the wrong temp or is staying open all the time.

You state that it goes down to 800 RPM when you put it in gear? Is this not a 5 speed?

when i am at idle if i have it in gear sitting at a light or something. I put a new thermostat in it about 2 months ago when i put in a new waterpump. Does it sound like the temp isnt right on it?
