ok its kind of a long story but, i have a 84 gs 12a automatic bone stock.but i went to advance autos to get some oil and tranny fluid cause they were both a little low. well i got the oil in and then as i was adding the tranny fluid i heard fluids hitting the ground, so i looked under the car and saw a lot of transmission fliud pouring all over the ground.it stopped in about 30 seconds. but i couldnt find the spot of the leak, iand its not from the filler cause that area was dry. so anyway i went out to my girlsfriends and noticed that my car was smoking, but not from the exaust pipe. so i jacked it up and saw that it was coming from the catalitic converter, i also noticed a few drops of tranny fluid on the ground. so has this ever happened to anyone else, please i need any info about this.

for some reason, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the title, lol.

 

You need to get the car up in the air and inspect the cause of the leak. Since the transmission is right next to the cat, if it is leaking it could be just dripping onto the exhaust.
