Slow windows, Graphite spray
Hey guys I am trying to fix up my slow power windows on my GSL, I read a bit and tried to grease the tracks and I still did not get the result I expected. I decided to try using some "dry slide" quick drying graphite spray from napa. After cleaning the grease back off with some brake cleaner. I generously sprayed a few coats of the graphite on the tracks allowing it to dry between coats. After it dried well, I checked the regulator assembly to see how well it moves and it seemed to work great. I reinstalled the regulator and now the window moves up and down almost like a new car window does! Next I will be hard wiring the motors with a relay. One good thought about using this is that there is no grease for dust to stick to, But this might wear off and need to be redone in a few years. I would post pictures, but this is with my cell phone connection

Relays will help a lot. I would take apart the switches and clean the contacts first. Here's a link from my site to pictures and info for 84 and 85. 81 through 83 are similar. http://intertron.com/ron/pw.html

Sand back your earths for the battery in the engine bay. It worked on my sev, now my windows go faster, wipers go faster, windscreen sprayer sprays further and engine turns over ALOT faster when starting.
