Slotted Rotors: Just giving you guys a heads up...

I have been looking for some more companies (this has NOT been an easy task by any means) that offer slotted rotors (and NOT CROSS DRILLED) for our 12A first gens. Along with www.buybrakes.com . I found two other websites:

1) These are the ones I found previously but this price is for EACH!!
http://www.buybrakes.com/store/DBA-336SL

2) You have to pay shipping along with the price of the rotors. (price is for the pair):
http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/SPP261224T.htm

3) Very bottom of the page (Price is for each, just select slotted and the shipping is free over 150 bucks):
http://www.alamomotorsports.com/KVR/...ors_mazda.html

I definetly DO NOT want cross drilled because i will be autcrossing my FB very soon so i am going to be going with slotted rotors for this reason. Have you guys heard of the other two companies (SP PERFORMANCE or KVR Rotors) ? I personally don't want a cheap product by any means...i want rotors taht will take a beating!

I've heard of KVR Perfomance before. I remember the show "Tuner Transformation" on Speed used them in a lot of their project cars. I just redid my brakes and went with the Brembo rotors from tirerack and Hawk HPS pads. The rotors are non-slotted, but a lot of the racers on here don't think that matters.

If I were in your positon, I'd go with the KVR rotors.

but- it does say "Slotting is recommended only for those Mazda vehicles involved in all-out competition, because along with eye-bulging stopping power comes a very significant increase in brake pad wear. "

I don't know

I just want to see how my car performs with new rotors, good pads, SS lines, and good fluid.

Well i don't mind the pad wear as long as the they stop my FB like a **** lol. I am actually gonna replace my brake lines as well but with the standard brake line but i am gonna zip tie the line (i heard it has the exact the same effect that SS lines offer....just a cheaper route). I already have my hawk HPS Pads on order....

I was thinking about going slotted and drilled, but got the brembo blanks instead. I heard the slotted ones wear your pads a lot as well. Plus no one makes rotors cast with holes in them, I hate it when they drill them.

Have you looked into powerslot rotor?
http://powerslot.com/pages/slot_app_mazda.html

They look like a pretty nice set of rotors but they only have the front for our cars. These are what i plan on getting. There not cheap but I have not heard anything bad about them

If i was going to get any slotted rotors for my car i would get theses.

Have you considered the REspeed big brake conversion and powerslot rotors? Thats the setup i'm runnng and it seems pretty solid. You will get the larger higher quality rotors, and the 4 pot calipers. But its obviously going to cost more, but it may be worth it for you to consider.

Buy the ss brake lines. By the time you buy and install all the zipties, the ss one's are cheaper. There are no 'good' short cuts when it comes to brakes.

ive bought rotors and pads from KVR for my 10thAE, my FD and currently have them on my GSL. and if i remember correctly, i think out of all of them, only 2 pairs were NOT drilled brembo rotors. at the time, i had a hookup with a friends business and got them at wholesale cost. but he is no longer in business.

but for ***** and giggles, check into this. i think i am going to buy them for the SE.

Buybrakes.com is pretty good. My friend bought stuff from there, brembo rotors(real), hawk pads, etc. I plan on buying from them when I need to, which will be soon.

Go with the Powerslots, they were $250 for both fronts when I got them. I think Mazdatrix has then, if not Mariah does. It shows up on eBay once in a while, but make sure they're POWERSLOTS ehh? Don't forget the bearing and pads.
