Since CP Racing is out of business, where can I get the flush head lights now? |

Check out the Miata forum. I uses to race those and there were lots of people doing that mod. The MR2 forum is pretty active and may have some leads.

if you want to go sleepy eye search!!!!! plenty of people have done write ups of how to do this properly. ie not pulling the fuse. and imo this is not a rice mod unless you also have a park bench spoiler, a fart can, stickers, and switches/lights/guages with no work done to the motor. I did this to my seven a while back and i dont think it looks rice.

Rice:
1) Food staple, ususally associated with asian countries but consumed worldwide. 2) A car, usually a late model of japanese origin, that has had numerous features added to it that may enhance its looks, but do nothing for its performance. So, unless someone is arguing the questionable aerodynamic benefit of the sleepy-eye mod, it is essentually "rice". As ugly as it looks, the flushed headlights on race cars are functional as the aerodynamic properties of the car do not change at night especially since their spoilers are tuned to the amount of downforce that they need. Big wing spoilers are ugly--yet they (can be) functional. Your average Civic DX does not usually take curves at 100+ mph speeds with 400 horses to the rear wheels, so in that case it is Rice. A 996 on the race track with the same spoiler is not rice. However, although my car sees track time and is RWD, the ricers have ruined the wing spoiler for everyone. |

But if your actualy making decent power and jus want to make your car look better then y not do it? thats the only reason i did it to my 7. I mean to each his own. I just perfer the look of flip ups over flush mounts even thought the flush mounts are actualy functional. Theres plenty of guys on this forum that have done this to there 7 and i wouldnt say thier cars are rice bcuz of it would you? ne one? |

It isn't mine. It's just a picture I have in my RX-7 picture collection. Oh how I wish it were mine, though.
