Slave Cylinder and Resonator!!!!!??
Hey everyone im new to the forum. i recently bought an 1982 Mazda Rx7! I love it and have always loved rotarys but anyways. i had 2 ?s quick. i just put the LSD rear end in the car but now it needs a slave cylinder bad! where is it located (side of trans) and how do i install it? and also im bout to order an exhaust. is 2 1/4 piping ok and i want to run just a resignator. will this be way to loud or not? thanks for any help! ---Tim

Slave: on fr of tranny on upper driver side - just follow the short line off your clutch master
Resignator... Rotaries (at least for the street) need quite a bit of muffling, so your "resignator" (resonator) might not be up to the task unless it is specifically designed for a street rotary. Rotaries are FEROCIOUSLY loud! Also, they generate far more HEAT than boingers, so "off-the-shelf" mufflers don't last long. There are several suppliers of rotary specific mufflers: Racing Beat (which I use) is one - their Power Pulse mufflers are specifically made to take the heat and sound nice. Others may jump on here with other recommendations-
Can't comment of the pipe diameter, but LOTS of experienced folks here with custom exhaust.
Also recommend you check out the ARCHIVES section - lots of exhaust info there-
