Should I save it?
I have a 1979 Limited RX7. It has been stored for the last few years, but ran, burning some oil, when parked. I am now ready to begin a complete original restoration of the car from the ground up.
My hope is to try to keep as much of the car original as possible. Is this a valid goal or a pie in the sky dream?
I do not have the time, space, tools or experience to attempt a rebuild of the engine myself and the local RX7 rebuilder said that the cost of attempting to rebuild mine would be better spent on a rebuilt engine from Mazda (without seeing the car).
I want to do what is right for the car, not necessarily the cheapest or easiest thing. In the world of restored RX7's is having the original engine an important thing?
Hopeful and anxious to drive again in VA
