Should I cool my intake manifold?
I've got the straight manifold for my Weber, and I've noticed that the sucker gets quite hot once the car gets warmed up. So hot, in fact, that I think it might be causing some problems, including rough running. I'd thought about setting up a cold air intake and aiming it towards the manifold, but was just wondering if it's even worth the effort or if there might be a better way to do it. I've got a RB header underneath it, and a homemade heat shield in between, but it still heats it up pretty good. Any opinions on this?

an hood scoop or maybe cutting a slit in the front panel errrr...wait i don't even think the air would get to it with the slit? would it? it would go into the radiator though right? and then lead to the weber?

Yes cold air to the manifold will help. I have the same manifold on bridgeport and use the stock 12a exhaust manifold cover. Pop riveted a 1/8" sheet of aluminum under it. And bracketed it so it bolts to the upper exhaust studs. That plus a Jet Hot 2000 coated header made the bottom of the intake manifold only 105*F when @ 6000rpms on the dyno after 40 minutes.
