Well, Pilgrim....

My feelin' is that you can never have enough Sevens. Check it out. If it runs, Hell the parts alone are worth more than $500. Offer him $300, sayin' "Yuh know, these cars ain't really worth that much. Not many folks will have anythin' to do with these here rotary cars. No mechanics will touch 'em, and dealer guys charge big bills for jest the tiny bit of work. Me, I'm jest a rotary fool. One of them odd-***** that has a hankerin' for weird stuff..."

He bulks...offer him $350, and finally $400....Give $500 only if you have to.

Denny,

well... went over to check out the car today, kinda dissapointed. the body is in beautiful shape, engine runs good, but the interior is HORRIBLE! the inside of the door is almost off on the passenger side, sun rot on the dash... such a shame. you could pull out the shifter almost all the way striaght up, most of the bushings were completely gone as well as the boot. the rear end had a very bad clunk when you stepped on the gas, seems like the rear mounts for the tranny and/or the suspension were disconencted (probably stripped). the guy knew very little about the car, only that it was rotary, and thought the rear end could be fixed by screwing the mounts back in, looked like it'd take some major dissasembly. i'm going to call him tomorrow and offer him 250... my brother wants it as a project car, although it'd take some major work. when i was lookin in the engine bay, i saw one of the leading plugs was disconnected, i don't know how long that was like that, but how much harm could that do to the engine? it was running on just the trailing on the rear rotor. anyways, just wanted to update, if my brother decides to get it i'll post some pics of it.

The interior on those cars just falls apart. It's amazing how Mazda went from the very solid 84-85s to the junk S4 interiors...

so, you mean it was running on one rotor......hook up the plug wire and see what happens...... just a bit of effort could make the insides nice again and the rearend is a easy fix also. now if it was rusted and the floor pan was gone, then forget it,,,,next.
