should i buy this?
okay, Im way to obsessed with these lttle cars, I have the oportunity to purchase a '82/3 GSL, they are asking $600, and the guy said "it has a carb. problem or sumthin, it doesnt like to just start up and go in the mornig, it needs like 2-3 min. to warm up before it will go", thats what he said, other than that, i was in a hurry when i looked at it, it had torn up leather seats and most of the center console thing was gone. i didnt lookat the miles, hell i dont even remember if it was an auto or a manual.
but my delima comes in the fact that the only reason I saw it was because i was talking to shop about fixing the fuel pump on my honda (proly like $100-$200), all i have isabout $600.
the other half of my delima is that I already own 3 SA's, and one is almost ready to attempt to start, one is parts and the other needs new engine gaskets and a tranny.
I want this car ( i dont even know why) and my dad said if we could put one of the other cars away, he wouldnt mind., but i also want to fix my honda so i can drive it when it snows( lots of salt on the roads in springfield)
So i guess that was just a long winded vent, but i would really apreciate some help with my delima, at the moment the scale is leaning very toward f-ing the honda and buying the 7, but ive only known about the car for a couple hours now.
well thanks for listening to me, and if i could give you back the last fiveminutes of your life i would.

im just wonderin what you guys think of this situaltion, i cant stop thinkin about this, and its been like 8 hours (seems like way more)....... Im confused...........ehhhhh., im just to ansy, i need to calm down
Sounds to me like you need more info on the car before you pay $600 for it IMO. If it turns out its not worth the $600 (engine dying, too beat up, etc), just see if you can get it cheaper for the LSD rear end, electronic dizzy, tranny, etc for your SAs or something

DONT DO IT!!!!, you are an rx7 addict.... just like me. I have 3.... kick the habit.... well, unless its a really good deal. Then again, i almost had 4. A friend called me up and said he met a guy with a 7 with a blown engine, dual webbers on it, ton of suspension work... Had to say no.... 3 is enough for now.
well i dont know, none of mine work and i dont know how long it will take to fix them, my honda thats worth aprox. $70, with 223k has stopped running all together now( well, when it doesnt want to run it wont, and when it feels like running it will, so i kinda ned a new gettabout car), Im just gunna get more info and go from there, im over the......... rush i guess you could call it of finding a working 7 in my price range

$600 is too much for a doubtful car. Spend some time and effort getting your SA(s) going. Otherwise you will dilute the little time and money you have with 4 cars.
I have 3 7s and my rule is: only one at a time is allowed to not run. This forces me to fix broken cars, or even (heaven forfend!) pay the mechanic to fix a car when 2 are broke and I can't fix it myself.
And talking about price, I got a pristine 85GSL with 49k last summer for $1700, and this year I got a GS with 110k, bad seats, slightly leaky (but strong) engine, some dings and bad paint, for FREE!
