shortened strut questions
let me tell you about my predicament,
I've installed on the front of my 8s gs, gsle spindles with Re-speed race coil-overs and Tokico hp struts to lower my car significantly
on hard turns and big bumps the struts, more specifically my driver side strut bottoms out. i was reading in a book that kentetsu gave me that shortened struts will fix my problem.
this is the hard part,
i want to stay in CSP auto-x class so i cant relocate strut mounts. and even if i wanted to move to modified I don't have the tools to do so..
what struts will fit that will be shorter?
or what measurements should i take to find a strut that will fit my needs?

Brett, I'm not having any issues like that and never had. I think this is probably something we can figure out without having to redesign your struts.
Did you keep your bump stops on? and are they still the stock size, or did you cut them? You might be running low enough that you are hitting the bump stops, not bottoming out the strut.
I'll be out of town until Wednesday, but we can hook up after that if you'd like a 2nd opinion.

there are a bunch of ways to fix this, the simplest is to raise the car up a little. next would be to look at the bumpstops, the competition prep manual has shorter bumpstops (it also lists the sizes of stock vs comp), so shorter ones are certainly valid.
also are you running camber plates? stock tops? the stockers are THICK, usually you get 1/2" or so with camber plates.
what is your spring rate? maybe you need stiffer springs. http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets16.html
2 you can put the camber plates on TOP of the shock tower, or raise the shock tower like racing beat did.
shorter struts are a little tricky, the stock FB struts are already like a foot shorter than the shortest toyota, so while its common for them, they are still way longer than us.
