BTW, no rush. I'll wait till you get stuff together so that you don't need cores.

When I make the rods they will be aluminum.
I'm heading to shop to start working now, I'll have some pics up late tonight or tomarrow afternoon.
I want to remind everyone that this really isn't comparable to the quality of a mazdatrix short shifter, it's the same basic design but without the frills. You get a modified stock shifter, the cnc'd riser/spacer, and longer bolts to accomodate the rise. You'll all see what you're getting beore anyone pays.

Thanks for the overwhelming response guys and a special thanks to whoever it was that revived the old post after I'd given up hope on the project.

Sorry to keep you guys holding, I made the mistake of fixing my dirt bike, also trying to get my street bike back together too.
I have something together by the end of the week.

I don't really have a need for an 80 shifter unless it's an FB 80.

You mean unless it's an SA '80? I'm not sure which one this shifter is for, as I got it along with the entire drive train for the car, but the guy didn't know if it was an SA or an FB.

Is there anyway to check to see if it's an FB '80? Would my '82 shifter **** be able to thread on it if it were an SA '80?

Or are you referring to something else called an FB 80? [As in joking]

What he's saying is that he dosen't do SA shifters as they are VERY different than the FB shifters, so an 80 SA shifter would not help at all.
If you car is an early FB (made in late '80) then it would be fine.
If you're unfamiliar with the visiual differences between the SA and FB, then check your VIN...

nonono, I just recently picked up a complete drivetrain from someone, and included with it was the shifter. All the guy told me was that the car was an '80 model. I don't own the vehicle this engine came from [the '80], I own the aforementioned '82 FB. The guy I got the shifter from didn't know whether it was an SA or an FB, and he can't tell me because he doesn't have the car/body anymore.

I see... well, is it a remote shifter, or a direct one?

As I understand it, the SA's have a remote set-up...
