Short shifter for a '79

I'm wondering why short shifters for rx-7's are so damn expensive. Ok I agree RX-7's are rare... but a short shifter still is a damn short shifter. It is the exact same principle! Why would a Short shifter for an rx-7 cost four times more than one for a normal car? And plus there isn't any short shifters avaible for a 1979 Rx-7.. I find that pretty weird! Yesterday my friend installed his short shifter kit for 54.95$ CDN on his civic... while I was watching him I kept on saying that if I would want to do that it would cost me 192.00$ + Taxes + Shipping(and all that in US dollars!!!!) I think it doesn't make any sense... some people that know rx-7's a lot should start working on shortshifters instead of paying 200$ for them from Mazdatrix!

Sorry guys I just had to vent lol

If you put a ball style shift **** on your shifter it cuts the throw down. And alot of racers I know hate short shifters. If your good you can shift just as fast with a normal shifter. You can always make one your self cut the shifter down and figure it out... Just takes a little playing with and imagination.
