Shifter **** II

Okay, I can make the aluminum/clearcoats ***** we discussed and distribute them for $29 each, provided there's enough of you interested in 'em...

Let me know. They'll look similar to this:

I'd like to see 20 orders - I still have 22 stereo brackets/cupholders left and my margins are quite thin on these - in other words it costs me money to have the stuff sit unsold.

one of the things is I try to make stuff that is as good as it looks, i.e. shipping the stainless steel stuff with the pastic still on it so it doesn't get scratched or fingerprint encrusted.

With these particular ones I'll be having them clearcoated - otherwise the raw aluminum would blacken your hand and look like crap - the clearcoat makes quite a difference in light reflection too, making it more of an orb - umpainted metal spheres reflect light in a way that makes 'em look 'pointy'.

Thing is, I do this extra stuff at extra cost so those of us that want 'em get good parts, not just paying some company to pad its profits.

It's also 'limited production' so you can brag about your 'custom' interior bits ("only 50 of these shifter ***** were made by some insane Canadian guy" etc.)

Whatever your answers are, I still want one

$29 US, plus about $5 or so shipping. And I pretty much do everything via PayPal...

I'll be adding it to the growing catalogue at http://www.wigglepup.com/RX-7/

Hearing nothing but derision from the 2nd gen guys on this - a shame, really, as this is the one part that fits both with no problems.

So it's either more 1st gen interest or I'll hafta scrap this one

Manntis, you will have to put flames on it or soemthing for them kiddies in there to like it... Tell them it will make them shoot 10 foot flames and it will be an instant smash...

And if its the same shifter thread as an 84 or 85, it will only fit 84-91.. 79-83 are different

manntis, there's gotta be a way to retrofit those cupholders into series 2 rx-7s. i mean, i'm sitting here staring at the empty spot under my eq, and it's begging for something useful, not that ugly block off plate thats there at the moment. hmmm... how tough would it be to make a cupholder that fits the dimensions of a standard eq? also, i've seen rear seat cupholders in other cars that have a tray drop beneath when open to hold the cups... like in an altima for example. that allows the sides to be mildly adjustable for stuff bigger than a can.

I also like the ones in the Dodge Insipid that uses adjustable 'clamps' to grip larger drinks, but that would mean more moving parts, etc.

I think I should work on a 1 DIN one that anyone can install and 'stack'.

However, I still have 22 of my original design to sell first and recoup my investment in materials.

that's why i was hoping on a retrofit.... if what you have would work, i'd be happy to pick one up. as it stands, i've got a crappy cupholder screwed into the center console passenger side vinyl. and don't blame me, i didn't do it! it was the last owner! i'd never put holes in the vinyl.... it's sacreligious!

hard to repair, too.

I'll see what I can do, as I have my '83 as a practice fit...
